Tucker County Arts Council – heard of it?

Does anyone know who was involved with or what happened to the Tucker County Arts Council?

It is a non-profit that used to benefit local arts. At one time, the Purple Fiddle was awarded a small amount $150-$250?) in order to play host to a children’s music concert and instrument-making workshop. It was a huge hit with parents, and I would love to be able to tap into similar money to host more children’s concerts – or even put them on at the schools.

Here is a link to their listing as a non-profit:
But it lists no one involved.

IF this organization still exists, it might be a great way for us local art enthusiasts to further promote the arts. It appears to be out of funds but there is no reason we cannot hold fundraisers.

OR perhaps, would STArt ever want to donate money to host free concerts for the community?

Gerald Smith

Currently, I have the perfect show in mind – on Friday July 29, Gerald Smith, a HeeHaw show regular as the Georgia Quacker, will be here. He would be perfect to take to the Cortland Acres nursing home, BUT I would not want to ask him without a source of pay forthcoming.

One Response to Tucker County Arts Council – heard of it?

  1. Linda Sinish says:

    Hi John,

I went to the link and there is a post office box address in Thomas listed. I’d success stopping by the Thomas post office and seeing if the post office box still belongs to the Tucker County Arts Council. If so, then they ‘might’ be able to provide a contact or a letter could be mailed to them.

    I hope this helps.
